Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains how to delete your data from PostMonk, including data received from connected social media platforms.

1. How to Request Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your data in any of the following ways:

Option A: Through Your PostMonk Account

Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will initiate deletion of all your data, including all connected platform data, content, and analytics.

Option B: Email Request

Send a deletion request to [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your PostMonk account. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.

Option C: Disconnect a Specific Platform

To delete data for a single connected platform without deleting your entire account, go to Settings → Connected Accounts and click "Disconnect" next to the platform. All data associated with that platform will be deleted within 24 hours.

2. What Data Is Deleted

When you request complete account deletion, we delete the following data:

  • Your PostMonk account profile and settings
  • All content (drafts, scheduled posts, published post records)
  • OAuth tokens and credentials for all connected social media accounts
  • Cached data from connected platforms (profile information, post data, analytics)
  • Client information and approval history
  • Brand voice profiles and AI Studio conversation history
  • Analytics data and reports
  • Team membership and role data

3. Data Deletion for Facebook & Instagram (Meta)

In compliance with Meta's Developer Policies, you can request deletion of data PostMonk has received from Facebook or Instagram in the following ways:

  • Through PostMonk: Disconnect your Facebook/Instagram account in Settings → Connected Accounts, or delete your PostMonk account entirely
  • Through Facebook: Remove PostMonk from your connected apps at Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites. When you remove PostMonk through Facebook, we receive a notification and automatically delete all data associated with your Facebook and Instagram accounts
  • Via email: Email [email protected] with subject "Meta Data Deletion Request"

Timeline: All Meta platform data is deleted within 24 hours of receiving the deletion request. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

4. Data Deletion for Other Platforms

X (Twitter)

Disconnect your X account in PostMonk settings, or revoke access through X Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions. All cached X data is deleted within 24 hours.

LinkedIn

Disconnect your LinkedIn account in PostMonk settings, or revoke access through LinkedIn Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services. All cached LinkedIn data is deleted within 30 days.

TikTok

Disconnect your TikTok account in PostMonk settings, or revoke access through TikTok Settings → Security → Manage app permissions. All cached TikTok data is deleted within 24 hours.

YouTube (Google)

Disconnect your YouTube account in PostMonk settings, or revoke access through Google Account permissions. All cached YouTube data is deleted within 24 hours.

5. Data Retention After Deletion

After processing a deletion request:

  • All personal data is permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days
  • Backup systems are purged within 90 days
  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics data (which cannot be traced back to you) may be retained
  • Data required for legal compliance (tax records, fraud prevention) may be retained as required by law

6. Confirmation

Once your data has been deleted, we will send a confirmation email to the address associated with your account. If you have questions about the status of a deletion request, contact [email protected].
